Sebastian graduated from the University of Alabama with degrees in Biochemistry and Mathematics/Political Science. There he worked in the lab of Dr. Jack Dunkle where he studied the proteins responsible for macrolide resistance. In the Kahne Lab he has studies both the lipopolysaccharide transporter (Lpt) and cell wall glycopeptides using a variety of in vitro and in vivo techniques.
Sebastian grew up in rural Colorado and has great love for being in the beautiful outdoors whether he would be hiking, skiing, or biking. Additionally, he loves staying in with his cat and playing strategy board games and tabletop roleplaying games. He is also currently the director of Harvard's Science in the News student group, so reach out if you have interest!
