Pengxiang graduated from Peking University, China in 2014 with a B.S. degree in chemistry with honors. Then he completed his Ph.D. degree in chemistry with Prof. Jin-Quan Yu at The Scripps Research Institute, CA in 2019. In the Kahne Lab, Pengxiang focuses on designing novel antibiotics that target outer membrane assembly.

Pengxiang grew up in Zhengzhou, China, one of the birthplaces of Chinese culture. Outside the lab, Pengxiang is interested in playing badminton, taking road trips and enjoying musicals and ballots. He also enjoys Japanese Anime and games and self-learnt Japanese language.
