Karan grew up in Sydney and graduated from UPenn in 2016. His undergraduate research in Prof. Amos Smith’s lab at UPenn focused on organic methods and the synthesis of novel antivirals. In the Kahne lab, he studies the lipopolysaccharide transport pathway.
