Graduate Student - MCO, G5

Email: cmoffatt@g.harvard.edu

Cait is from Winston-Salem, NC, and attended UNC-Chapel Hill for her undergrad education, working in the lab of Dr. Jeff Sekelsky on a Drosophila DNA damage repair protein. She then moved near Washington, D.C. to work at the National Institutes of Health for two years in the lab of Dr. Orna Cohen-Fix. There, she studied factors involved in nuclear size regulation using budding yeast. She is now excited to study an even smaller organism, E. coli, and how it transports lipopolysaccharide to the cell surface.

In her free time, Cait loves being outdoors, doing film photography, playing cello, and spending time with her cat, Ralphie. She is also excited to be involved in STEM outreach during her time as a graduate student, and has recently loved being a mentor through Girls who Code.
